The USS Enterprise (CVN-65) is a US Navy aircraft carrier built in 1958-1961 and in service for more than 50 years from 1961 to 2012, a real record of longevity for this kind of ship.
The Enterprise had a crew of some 4600 members and, thanks to his eight Westinghouse nuclear reactors, an unlimited range of distance and an autonomy of 20-25 years, limited only by the crew supplies.
This legendary ship has a lenght of 342 m (1123 ft), a top speed of 33,6 kn (62 km/h – 39 mph) and can carry up to 90 aircraft! To launch the aircraft in a so short distance, the flight deck has four steam-powered catapults, and to stop the landing aircraft there are four super strong steel cables.
The aircraft are held under the flight deck, on the hangar deck, and the ship has four external elevators to move them from one deck to another.
Thanks to Mocsage, which realized a special edition of my USS Enterprise model, this MOC comes in a dedicated custom box, and includes a paper instructions manual and many stickers that enrich the design!
