The Shenyang J-50 is a sixth-generation fighter jet under development by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation for the China’s Air Force.
Information about this aircraft are confidential, but it was spotted flying together with another 6th-gen advanced prototype, the Chengdu J-36, at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
From the available videos and pictures, the J-50 seems to be a twinjet tailless lambda wing fighter, with swivelable wing tips, two weapons bays, V-shaped engine inlets, and an electro-optical targeting system.
Like for the J-36 model I recently designed, this project was really challenging for me: few available photos and videos, at a low quality, and no reliable blueprints or diagrams to use. Nevertheless I did my best and I realized a detailed model as exact as possible – at a 1:60 scale – which also includes some interesting design features:
– Retractable front and main landing gears
– Weapons bays with openable doors
– Missiles models inside the weapons bays
– Moving aerodynamic surfaces (ailerons and swivelable wing tips)
The model also includes a display stand.
