The SS Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian ocean liner built in 1958 by Ansaldo Shipyards and operated by Italian Line.
The ship was intended to replace the SS Andrea Doria, the famous Italian ocean liner sunk in 1956 after just three years of service. In order to save time in constructing the new vessel, the plans of the Andrea Doria were used but adapted to a larger design. The new ship resulted in a safer ship, 232,6 mt (763 ft) long with a tonnage of 33.000 GT, characterized by several innovative features: infrared-heated swimming pools, four retractable stabilizers fins, full air conditioning, and provisions to convert the ship to run on nuclear power.

This MOC is a 1:400 scale model of the ship, largely inspired by the Andrea Doria design, adapted and improved. This Italian style model has all the details of the real ship and a easy and enjoying building process.
