Carnival Celebration, alongside her sister ships Carnival Jubilee and Mardi Gras, is the largest Carnival Cruise Line vessel and one of the largest cruise ships in the World.
It has a total lenght of 344,5 meters, a 183,521 gross tonage, 19 decks, and a capacity of up to 5374 passengers + 1735 crew members.
The ship was built in the Finnish shipyard Meyer Turku, construction started on 13 January 2021 and was completed on 2 November 2022; she was Christened on 20 November 2022 during her maiden voyage.
Carnival Celebration has many features among which restaurants, lounge areas, theathers, shops, pools, and other amenities.
The most notable feature of the ship certainly is the roller coaster “Bolt”, located on the “Ultimate Playground” zone on her top decks: self-propelled cars ride on a 800-foot track at a maximum speed of 40 mph (64 km/h); the zone also host a water park and sports center.
I designed a 1:375 scale model of this beautiful ship by using a mix of styles: hull and superstructure are realized in a creator/classic style, with large sub-sections and a strong internal structure. The details of the upper decks are designed with a microscale/architecture style, trying to replicate all the details such as slides, the roller coaster, pools etc. This MOC is the largest ship that I ever designed (not including my first prototype models Costa Concordia and Costa Luminosa) and also one of the most detailed.
